The book by Father László Imre Németh was published as a result of the cooperation between the Friends of Hungary Foundation and the Historia Ecclesiastica Hungarica Foundation. The author analyzes the history of Hungarians in Italy with scientific interest, paying special attention to the life of the Hungarian Catholic community in Rome and Milan, as well as the history of Hungarian church institutions in Rome.

Father László, a member of the Friends of Hungary Foundation, was the pastoral coordinator of Hungarian Catholics living in Italy for 20 years from 2000, and from 2011 he was the president of the Szent István Foundation in Rome and the director of the Szent István House. The volume provides an insight into the activities of Hungarian pastors in Italy during the period under review, into the functioning of Hungarian ecclesiastical institutions in Rome, and presents the lives of those distinguished personalities whose activities the author followed and studied. Among others, the defining memories of the lives of Vilmos Apor, József Mindszenty and József Zágon are brought to life.
