A member of the Board of Trustees and a member of the Community of Friends of Hungary Foundation were honored with state awards!

KÁROLY KOCSIS, member of our Board of Trustees, geographer, Institute Head Professor, full member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, received the SZÉCHENYI PRIZE in recognition of his internationally significant geographic-cartographic collection, the creation of the National Atlas of Hungary, and his research and teaching activities in the field of social geography, with an approach of the Carpathian Basin.

 

GYÖRGY SZAPÁRY, economist, former Vice-President and advisor to the President of the National Bank of Hungary, Professor Emeritus of Corvinus University of Budapest, former Hungarian Ambassador to Washington, received the HUNGARIAN CROSS OF HONOR, Civilian Category, in recognition of his outstanding and value-adding career in the fields of economics and diplomacy.
