Edith Oltay, member of the Friends of Hungary Foundation, passes away
We saddened to tell you that our member, Edith Oltay, has passed away after a difficult battle with cancer. We will miss her dearly and will keep honoring her memory.
Dr. Oltay was a political scientist. She left Hungary as a child, with her mother. She got her BA degree in political sciences on the East coast of the USA and her MA degree in Bonn, Germany. After finishing her studies she worked for the research institute of Radio Free Europe where she analysed the Hungarian political processes and developments. Századvég published her book on the history of Fidesz in 2012 and the second edition in 2013. She wrote her doctoral dissertation under the title "From the Status Law to Dual Citizenship" in 2021.
